Product Finder Quiz ("the app") is a Shopify app that lets merchants build a product-recommendation quiz for their storefront. This policy explains what data the app collects, how it's used, and how it's protected.

1. Data We Collect

When a merchant installs the app, we collect:

• The store's myshopify.com domain
• An OAuth access token used to call the Shopify Admin API on the merchant's behalf
• The quiz configuration the merchant creates (question text, answer text, and which products each answer links to) — stored as a Shopify metaobject inside the merchant's own store, not in a separate database

2. Data We Do NOT Collect

The app does not collect customer personal information. Shoppers who take the quiz on the storefront are not required to submit an email, name, or any contact details, and no shopper answers are stored or transmitted anywhere — scoring happens entirely in the shopper's browser.

3. How We Use Your Data

Shop and quiz configuration data is used solely to operate the app: to display the quiz builder in the Shopify admin, and to serve the correct quiz and matching products to the storefront. We do not use this data for advertising, and we do not sell or rent it to third parties.

4. Data Sharing

The app is hosted on Railway, which processes data solely to run the app's servers. See Railway's own privacy policy for details. We do not share store or configuration data with any other third party.

5. Data Retention

Quiz configuration is stored as a metaobject inside the merchant's own Shopify store, not in a separate database we control. When a merchant uninstalls the app, Shopify automatically removes that data, and we process the mandatory shop/redact, customers/redact, and customers/data_request webhooks required for Shopify App Store compliance.

6. Your Rights

Merchants can request details of the data associated with their store, or request its deletion, at any time by contacting us below. Uninstalling the app also triggers automatic data cleanup as described above.
